3–5 January 2020
This exciting open singles event provides players heading to the Australian Open (7–13 January) with a perfect opportunity to acclimatise and tune up their skills before the main event. The top-eight IRTPA-ranked applicants will be accepted, with appearance fees paid to all successful professional applicants.
Revised 1 pm 28 December by the Tournament Director following withdrawal of the no.1 seed, based on advice by Alastair Curley (ARTA) and endorsed by Susie Fawkner (IRTPA). Originally conducted 8 am 14 December 2020 at 45 Davey Street by Chair of Tennis, Jeremy Rackham, and witnessed by the HRTC Secretary, Alastair Ramsay.
The tournament rules, including local HRTC rules, as instructed by the Tournament Referee at the players’ briefing, take precedence over the IRTPA rules of play.
International and interstate: $1000
If the total of the appearance fees is below the event’s $6,500 appearance fee budget, the balance will be split evenly between the attending professionals.
Appearance fees will be paid on commencement of play on 3 January. The best-of-five set knock-out event is staged over 3 days with the final on Sunday 5 January. During the competition, players will be provided with lunch each day, billeted accommodation and complimentary tickets to a reception at Government House and the Tournament Dinner.
