The Trophy Room was packed on Friday night for Graham Hyland’s book launch. It wasn’t the free champagne that got them there, but the opportunity to be part of the launch of a special book by a unique player and student of the game. Vice President Graeme Bradfield did the honours. He reminded the crowd of some of G’s unique ways. It included a story about firing arrows into the air in the dark at G’s property and standing dead still and waiting for the arrow to fall, as G had said that there was no way the arrow would come back down in the same spot. Dead still it might have been. Graeme B only tried it once !!
But the book is a great read. Reflections on Graham’s time as a professional in Hobart and New York, observations on the game and many of it great players, his opinion on the best player in the world, and wonderful advice for players of all handicaps on how to play and improve your game.
