To celebrate the new HRTC website we are running a competition. The winner gets a free lesson with Barry and the runner up gets a tennis club t-shirt.
Just post a comment in response to this question:
“What is your favourite thing about the Hobart Real Tennis Club?”
Entries will be judged by the Committee in February.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they’re always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.
This new blog!
The new picture of the monk in the grille….. ?
(Who provided it, by the way ?)
The fact that we are lucky enough to have Barry!
The people who make the club what it is.
Ron Booth was the genius with the new monk.
The Committee!
great place for Functions and Parties …Great game too!
The apparent absence of ‘poseurs’ amongst the membership!
Having known, played with and watched many tennis greats over the years that I have been a member. Such personalities as Q and CCAB – the real gentlemen of real tennis.
That we are the club that can. Because we have an excellent ambassador for the club and the game in Rob Fahey, everybody in the game knows of the Hobart Club. We usually manage to punch above our weight in tournaments, all striving that little bit extra because of our pride in our club.
The history of the club, the cameraderi, the court and associated buildings, the ambiance and the friendship shown to members. The game is like no other, combing so many aspects of many games into one co-hesive intriguing and challenging game. It keeps me enthralled each time I go out on court for a game.
The other really great thing was seeing Barry win round one of the Australian Open 2010, in three straight sets. Such a lesson in tennis to anyone wanting to take up the game, proving that youth can’t necessarily beat age and experience !!!! Top stuff.
I really like the look of the new web site and will look forward to the on-line booking system being operational. The links all seem to work well thought I wasn’t sure I wanted info on the ‘other’ Aus Open (Federer and co) when the champtionships were on when I clicked on that link. It is good to get the results of the competitions too.
