The Tasmanian Open Handicap Singles was run in 3 Divisions – Friday to Sunday – 25-27 May 2012.
The combined draw saw 20 players take to the court over the 3 days which included a return to competition tennis for Graham Hyland, albeit it he lost his first round match to Pete Boyles 6/1, 3/6, 6/2. In addition to that pair, there were 4 other players in the A Singles draw, being Graeme Blundstone and Graeme Bradfield, with the final being between Jeremy Rackham (love) and Tony Blom (owe 1/4 15). Tony Blom won the A Singles Final 6/3, 6/4.
The B Singles was a small draw of Chris Doucas, Nick Rooke, Ron Booth and Justine Legg with the latter two playing in the final. Justin Legg (owe 15) won 6/5, 6/5 over Ron Booth (Rec 1/2 15).
There was a field of 10 in the C Singles with Simon Dwyer (Rec 1/2 15) winning over Paul Dunne (owe 15), 5/0, 5/2. They both had 3 set matches to make the final, accounting for Dave Mitchell and Tony Barrett respectively. The other players in the draw were Iain Burrows, Pat Bradfield, Alex Colbert, Eryl Raymond, Ray Brown and John Moores.
